"The Best of Vashava" features the most compelling and transformative music Vashava has composed, performed and created - since his journey began with his traditional flutes, in 2007. Encapsulating 10 original compositions totaling 74 minutes & 04 seconds, Vashava's mastery of multiple genres - from aboriginal, to the Blues, ambient, psychedelic/transcendental, and New World - are simply unmatched as it pertains to these instruments. In fact, no other musician has pioneered new techniques for these aboriginal flutes in a manner eclipsing Vashava's original works.
Not only has Vashava recorded an album featuring myriad genres, but he composed each and every work featured on that album. The Best of Vashava represents not only a life achievement relating to Vashava's devotion to the essential tenets of Jain asceticism, but a journey made complete by the selfless contributions of others. Odell Borg, of High Spirits Flutes (Patagonia AZ), handcrafted each flute featured on The Best of Vashava. Mark Kaeder, of Falcon Studios (Portland OR) expertly performed all production & engineering for the album. Mr. Kaeder also created several of the backtracks used on the album. Several compositions were inspired by the deeply enriching friendships Vashava has formed with others over the years. The 24 Tirthankaras of the Jain Nirvana provided unyielding guidance and wisdom for Vashava, each and every step of the way.
Last but by no means least, Vashava's loving and compassionate mother, Alice Sabaj, instilled in Vashava the unyielding drive to be creative, unique and accomplished in all of life's pursuits. Without these key contributions, Vashava would have fallen far short of his objective to record and release a solo album that is like none other.
Vashava is honored to share with you those treasures revelaed on "The Best of Vashava."
